Anthropic Released Cowork: Claude Code for Every Kind of Work

Anthropic released Cowork, a tool similar to Claude Code which lets a LLM agent to read, edit, or create files and folders in your computer. Using Cowork, you can make Claude reorganize the download folder by sorting and renaming files or create a new spreadsheet with a list of expenses from a screenshot.
Cowork will only be able to read and edit files and folders that the user give explicit access. When it tries to execute an action, it will ask the user to authorize it. Anthropic said that they built sophisticated defenses against "promp injections", but that agent safety cannot be guaranteed because it is still being actively developed.
Cowork is available as a research preview for Claude Max subscribers on the macOS app. For other platforms, you need to join the waitlist for future access.
